I've always had a thing for eyelashes.......

It's true.  I have always loved eyelashes.  It is one of the first things I notice about people (I know that sounds a little weird, but it's the truth).  So when my sister called to tell me about a new product that could actually grow longer thicker lashes....and was safe.....I was extremely interested.

I have heard of these products before, but have never tried any of them.  The prescription formulas (although they work) can cause side effects that may be irreversible; while most over the counter formulas that I have found contain "prostaglandins" or hormones.  I am extremely cautious when it comes to my eyes, and even though I would love to have long beautiful lashes, I am not willing to risk putting anything harmful (or even potentially harmful) on or around my eyes.  So as my sister was going on and on about the results that she had witnessed in person (my aunts and cousins have been using this product for months now and their eyelashes look amazing) I was busy researching the product online.  There was one line that I was looking for .......

"Enormous Lash is gentle enough for twice a day application and pregnant and nursing women."

I was sold.  The guidelines for what is and is not safe for pregnant women are extremely strict so when a product can make this claim I feel very comfortable using it.

I have been using enormous lash for about 2 months now, and it really does work.  The results are subtle, but my eyelashes are longer, thicker and just better.  I feel like the formula makes my lashes "healthier" in the same way that when my hair is healthy it is thicker and stronger and just looks better.

It takes very little product so one tube lasts up to 9 months, making it a very affordable habit that is worth trying!

What I've noticed

I have been using Enormous Lash for two months and really like it. I haven't had earth shattering results, but to be fair, I didn't have horrible eyelashes before, but definitely worth $10ish a month (averaged out). My eyelashes before were a decent length, just high maintenance. I have curly hair and curly eyelashes (not that great eyelash curl... crazy overlap curly hair curl, hard to explain, but just a little history..

Here is what I have noticed...
  • my make-up looks still looks decent at the end of the day
  • I can't remember the last time I noticed an eyelash fall out
  • I am putting on my eye make-up in less than half the time (probably more like a third but am trying to be conservative) which makes me think they must be thicker and darker
  • I curl my eyelashes once instead of 2-4 times on each eye
  • I am doing 1-2 coats of mascara instead of 2-3
  • It is totally helping my face washing routine because I never want to miss using it
  • good make-up days more often
  • I look better without any make-up (which also leads to the thicker and darker theory)
Not earth shattering... but I am trying to keep it real, and I think it is really hard to notice the gradual change when you see yourself everyday. I can't wait to see my sisters next week after two months... so I will report back... we have all been using it for 1-2 months.

I am happy with thicker and darker... really eyelashes can only be so long... it isn't like they are going to grow to three inches... I think depending on what you start will vary the results. For me, thicker and darker is good. They are a little longer but that isn't really where I was lacking... I just wanted to look better... which I think I do...

I will report each month to see when I noticed the "final product." Two months seems like a milestone.

Why Enormous Lash

The background: I love make-up... and have a thing for great eyelashes. I know there are quite a few of these products on the market... some much more expensive and a few slightly less expensive but this is why I chose Enormous Lash over the others (I did a little homework). I won't mention names but I actually bought one of the other brands that retails at $120 and used it faithfully and didn't see noticeable results. I watched a few experiment with eyelash extensions (pricey and ridiculous maintenance - although if you have a lot of time and money they look great if you keep them up).

I was a little skeptical and determined not to spend any more money trying to be cute. So I am 8 months behind in this process because I waited and watched. A member of my family who owns a salon did her own test on two different products (one on each eye) and Enormous Lash won hands down. Two months after that several more people in my extended family started using it... and 4 months later when I went to lunch with my aunt I couldn't stop staring. I was in shock at the difference in her eyelashes. I was sold!

Becca and I looked a little further... saw that this has great reviews, a 12 month money back guarantee, and is prostaglandin free... so it is safe to use pregnant and nursing. (That is a big deal... there are very few of any kind of product that don't put that warning on them. We loved that it was totally safe.)

So... it is expensive (I will beat any authorized dealer's price) but it is guaranteed and one tube lasts up to nine months. A lot up front but "per month for cute" - not bad.

I just can't resist...

When I find a product I love it isn't enough for me to just use it... I have to share it, be a commercial for it!

Well, after watching my aunts and cousins get "cuter by the minute" (determined not to be suckered into one more thing) I had to have my own. My aunts and cousins started using Enormous Lash at the beginning of the year (2009) after one of them experimenting with two products, one on each eye. Enormous Lash won by a landslide and they all started using it. Needless to say... they all look great! I got a late start but have seen huge improvements and just had to have easy access so I signed up to be a distributor. Of course, Becca is my partner in crime... and the cutest girl ever... who wouldn't want to use what she is using!

We signed up because we wanted Enormous Lash but found out that Beauty Society has all sorts of great products... we are trying them out one by one so we can give the best reviews.

Stayed tuned for the long version now that I finally have this blog up and running... Bec and I are sharing this blog as well, so you can look forward to hearing from both of us!
